Community Leaders Unite with Daily Bread Food Bank in an Effort to

Renew America by Feeding South Florida!

SOUTH FLORIDA, January 13, 2009 – Inspired by the partnership between Feeding America and the President-elect and Mrs. Obama’s “Renewing America Together” campaign, Daily Bread Food Bank answered the call to action Monday with a breakfast gathering of community leaders committed to ending hunger in South Florida.

This community breakfast was held at the African-American Research Library in Ft. Lauderdale and there, Daily Bread Food Bank provided community leaders with information on how they can make a difference in feeding the hungry as well as information on resources and innovations that will help the neediest in South Florida.

The event also featured many eloquent speakers and was kicked off by a prayer given by Pastor Henoc Paulicin.  Speakers included Commissioner Dale Holness of Broward, motivational speaker Cynthia Manner, Daily Bread Food Bank Executive Director Judith Gatti as well as Development Director Anthea Pennant.  MZuri also provided attendees with a very moving singing performance.  And, in a moment of unity, community leaders all raised their right hands and pledged to return to their circles of influence with a renewed perspective on hunger and an initiative to motivate others to join the quest to reduce hunger.
